Never give up on your true dream.

You may be looking at your life right now and simultaneously wondering how things got this bad, how you’ve survived to this point, and whether or not it is really possible for you to experience love and meaning.

You’re not alone. I’ve had these recurring thoughts myself but now I can honestly say that I love what I do and who I am.

I experienced childhood trauma and grew up without the emotional support I needed from family. I pursued a career as an Actuary and became successful in the corporate environment, but later realized that I was trying to please others, rather than pursuing my true dream. In 2013, I made the difficult decision to uproot my life geographically, emotionally and financially, and decided to do something I considered fulfilling and become a counselor.

I’ve experienced divorce, emotional breakdowns, heartache, disappointment, and betrayal, both personally and professionally, and I know how devastating these experiences can be. I also know that beauty can be found in the darkest spaces, and there is always a way to move forward, even when we have no idea about what to do next or feel like we can’t take it anymore.

Gut wrenching decisions. Tears. Laughter. Grief. Hope.

In counseling, we go deep into these experiences so that you can come out on the other side feeling whole

I help people who are struggling with:

  • Traumatic childhood - Adult survivors of childhood abuse and/or childhood trauma

  • Recovery from domestic violence and abusive relationships

  • Coping after divorce, separation, or a relationship break up

  • Managing relationships and issues with parents who were emotionally abusive or negligent

  • A pattern of seeking relationship partners who are distant and staying in relationships that are not serving you

  • Experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety

As your counselor, I want you to see significant results, move forward, and create measurable change. But most importantly, through counseling you’ll see that your results are not because of me, your results are because of you and what you are already capable of. Once you are able to truly see yourself and your capabilities, then you can use that in all areas of your life.

As I said before, I love what I do, and I would love to hear your story and support your journey toward healing.

Hobbies and Interests

I have two dogs whom I love like children as I don't have any.

I named one of my dogs Jacque Pepin who is my favorite chef and also a great philanthropist.

I still tap dance, a hobby I started at the age of six.

I started cooking in my early 30s and love to have 4-5 dishes in progress.

One of my mottos is "cook with love" and I know I make people happy with my lasagna.

Insurance

I am in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and UnitedHealthCare, which usually covers therapy for members. Check with your insurance before your first appointment to determine your copay and if you have a deductible.

If you have a different insurance, may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance for therapy provided by an out-of-network provider. You may also be able to use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for counseling, and/or your counseling fees may count toward your annual deductible. I recommend you call to check your coverage before your first appointment.

Important note about using insurance:

Please be aware that when you choose to use insurance, the insurance company requires that I provide a mental health diagnosis. If you do not meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis then your insurance company is unlikely to pay for counseling. The insurance company also has the right to request a copy of your counseling records and may have other requirements in order to reimburse you for counseling expenses.
